Similar to many of the people who want to achieve a feat that nobody has done yet, Maranga Cebu Balloons & Party Supplies plans to accomplish something that can bring them to the world stage. One of the first ideas of the company is to make the longest Balloon Entrance Arch. Unlike the standard 7ft Arch, the company plans to make a much longer and much wider design, which will surely become the first and biggest of its kind.
Getting a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records means a lot to the business as this will surely bring international exposure for the company albeit for a short time. Achieving a feat that no one has done will bring pride not only to the owners of the Balloon Shop but also to its motivated employees.
Aside from making Balloon Borders, Balloon Sculptures, Cake Arches, Balloon Pillars and many other Balloon Designs, Cebu Balloons is the “go-to” shop when it comes to Grand Entrance Arches using Balloons. They make sturdy designs that can last for weeks especially when placed indoors.
The initial plan is to make a Grand Arch along the Marcelo Fernan Bridge (2nd Mactan-Cebu Bridge). It is about 1.05 kilometers or 3444.882 feet. This is one of 2 bridges where commercial boats pass by every day, making it an entrance and exit. To achieve the World Record, we need to discuss the initial plan with the Local Government of Mandaue City and Lapulapu City. Upon approval, we will prepare the funds for the raw materials and labor cost. The plan is to set up the Balloon Arch along the railings of the Bridge to make it sturdier and last longer. There will be metal rods to support the big balloon arch from strong wind. Based on our estimate, 1.05 kilometers is about 17,040pcs of Balloons. The total cost of the raw balloons, including the metal support would be about P80,000. Store staffs are willing to offer their time and effort for free just to achieve this act. An accomplishment like this will surely make everyone in the company proud and more motivated.
We are hoping that we can do this within the year or next year. We will have to ask for the guidelines from Guinness World Records first so one of their representatives can come and check what we are doing. We will also bring some Photographers and Videographers to document the entire event. Good luck to this plan.
